Big Oil

in alternative energy.

If we took just a small percentage of the tax breaks we give Big Oil each year and invested that in Alternative Energy, we would be free. Done. No more dependence on foreign oil. We have been locked into oil dependence again, by the oil companies, by stealing our money that could be far better used elsewhere.

And then there’s the “methane-ice” reserves... Just a couple hundred feet below the surface of the water, off coastlines around the world, exists an energy supply that puts oil to shame. No one has tapped that yet because they’re just too happy making too much money on oil. That, and there would be a few large infrastructure changes required. The point is, that oil is not the only energy supply around.

The interesting thing here, is that once we remove our dependence on oil, the Middle East will actually calm down by themselves. We don’t have to do a thing.

To be a little more clear on the subject... We MUST break our dependency on foreign oil. There are plenty of promising alternatives to explore. I want the USA to be ready with an alternate energy supply before the oil begins to run out.

Think long term...!

Expect cars to be smaller and lighter in the coming years.

The first step in oil independence, is no passenger car will be sold in the USA that gets less than 35mpg. The exception being, you can pay a $10,000 gas-guzzler tax for each 1mpg under the limit. So, yes, you can still have your Ferrari, it’ll just cost you a little extra. We raise the limit 1mpg per year until we get to 50mpg. And lastly, we void any and all patents which affect vehicle mpg. Done. No more oil dependence. And it doesn’t cost you or I even one single dime! In fact, it will save the middle and working classes a boatload of money, and help to reinvigorate the economy!

Why is breaking our dependence on foreign oil so important? Because the Middle East is raking in the money, which, if they were not third-world countries wouldn’t be an overly bad thing. But, there is still simply too much greed and megalomania there. The money doesn’t reach the people. Huge masses live in abject poverty. That feeds religious fanatacism, and that fuels terrorism. It’s like giving an uzi to a ten-year-old. They’re not ready for it. They have a lot of growing up yet to do, and we cannot help them while they are armed.
