Do you even know what Capitalism is? It is a system whereby one tries to squeeze as much money as possible, out of everyone and everything, all the time. Unregulated Capitalism has shown us what it is capable of. Slavery. Child labor. 100-hour work weeks. Sweat shops. Hazardous conditions. Unsafe products. You name it... Capitalism has one thing going for it that no other system does. It feeds on greed to provide motivation. It feeds on greed to produce. No other system is as productive as Capitalism. But again, left unregulated, Capitalism will turn nasty, as we know all too well.

The American worker is highly efficient and productive. Do you have any idea what you’re actually worth? I do. I’ve done the math. The average worker, you, works half a day for his wealth. Yes, half a day. That’s your wealth. You work about two weeks to feed and clothe your family. Two weeks, for food, housing, transportation, and the basics. That’s all. Where do the other 50 weeks of the year go? Where does roughly 95% of your labor go to? Not you. Middle Class... you’re not much better off. You work about a month for yourself. That’s all. 90% of your labor is going somewhere else. Is that OK with you?

I believe in regulated, Socially Responsible Capitalism. If you treat your employees well, then by all means, you deserve every penny you make. More power to you. Take your money and enjoy it. You did something good.

One thing that really irks me, gets my goat, just annoys me to no end, is the favorite line I keep hearing from the pure Capitalists: “Tax cuts for the rich stimulate the economy and provide jobs”. This line bothers me so much, because it is quite literally, a bold-faced out-right lie. A lie. A big lie. It is greed, in its purest form. Why? The speaker is counting on your lack of knowledge about how the economy works, and what really does create jobs. They know that you don't know. They know you have no choice but to believe them. Well I'm here to tell you otherwise. Tax cuts to the rich do nothing more than line their pockets, so they can take that money and retire to an island somewhere, not even in the USA! That's right. It's all the rage, the current trend. Make your money here, then take it and run. Ask yourself what drives a business... If the owner has more money, will they hire more employees? No, of course not. The owner will hire more employees when the demand goes up. What makes the demand go up? People having more money to spend. That's YOU. Tax cuts for the Working and Middle Classes are what stimulate the economy. That has been proven over and over and over again. In fact, damn near every major corporation in the USA, and every medium and small company in the USA, were all started with nothing, in a garage. So, next time someone whines about the rich needing tax cuts to create more jobs... tell them where to shove it.

Do we need guest workers? Slave labor? Hell no! One of the immigration proponents favorite lies, is that we need slave labor to pick our fruit and vegetables. They say: “Do you really want to pay $5 for a head of lettuce?”  Well no, of course not. But just where did they get that $5 number anyway? Let’s do a little quick math... If the new wage for picking lettuce were raised to $10/hour, and a lettuce picker picked 200 heads of lettuce in an hour (they’d be fired for being too slow!), that comes out to a grand total of 5 cents per head of lettuce. Add health insurance, retirement, time off, etc, and it probably adds up to a grand total of 10 cents per head. The reality is, that if $10/hour, with benefits, added even so much as a nickel to the cost of a head of lettuce, I would truly be surprised. So, where did the we-need-slave-labor proponents get that $5 number? They pulled it out of their ass. That’s where it came from. It is, again, a big fat lie, which depends on you not knowing how business, or the economy really works.

Take PRIDE in being a worker! The rich are not better than you. You did not sacrifice your morals. You did not sacrifice your values. You did not miss your children’s birthday parties. You stopped to smell the roses, to enjoy life. They did not. Greed will eventually work its way out of the human genome. It is not a useful trait any more. The Workers will be the ones who continue the human race. Stand up and be proud, because we are the future. Not them.
