We’re losing ground, falling further and further behind.

Years of corruption have crushed our military far worse than any other outside force could ever dream. We’re short on manpower. We’re short on equipment. Contractors rip us blind. The whole system here needs to be fixed and re-organized. The military budget has got to be utilized more efficiently. We don’t even have the manpower to handle a busted little country with only a few million people. How could we ever manage a larger problem? We can’t. That’s the problem.

I hate to say it folks, but let’s admit it right now so we can fix it:
China could kick our ass. Hard. We are not #1.

To be fair, let’s get the story in Iraq straight. The military is not losing by their own fault. They’re just doing what they are told. Priority #1 don’t shoot. Priority #2 smile. Can’t win anything but a photo-shoot with that. Beyond that, the US simply doesn’t have the manpower. It doesn’t take many people to defend a country. It doesn’t take many to liberate a country. It takes a huge number of people to be an occupying force. The US has chosen to pursue a smaller number of troops, with expensive high-tech weapons. We simply cannot be an occupying force. We do not have the manpower. President Bush was informed of this. He was told that we needed a minimum of 500,000 troops in Iraq. That’s why we are failing there. We have roughly 1/4 the necessary troop requirement.

That doesn’t excuse the China problem though.
We can not let our Military be second-rate.

China has the manpower to take over almost any country in the world. The USA is relatively safe from a military takeover, thanks mostly to our RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. Our population cannot be easily controlled. But in an open level playing field, China would win. In fact, they have so much manpower, that we could not liberate a country that they decided to occupy. Again, we simply don’t have the manpower, or the weaponry. Their army is massive.

One might argue that we could take on China because we own the sea and the sky. One could argue that, but they would be dead wrong. Two reasons: One, China has demonstrated the ability to shoot down satellites. We are helpless in the sky without communications, without our satellites. And two, China has demonstrated the ability to place a submarine right smack dab in the middle of our carrier groups. We can’t see them in the water. Our navy is sunk.

Like I said, we are #2. The corruption, the greed, the waste, has taken its toll.

OK, folks. It’s time for a lecture, and this is a good place for it. So listen up and pay attention.

What is the purpose of our Military? What is it that we fight for? Why do we care who runs our government, or how? I will tell you: To protect our personal freedoms and our way of life. To defend the Constitution, which clearly states that we are free, and free to be diverse. Our military protects our freedom. That is it’s purpose. Don’t ever forget that.

Why the lecture? Because I hear time and time again, how someone hates this group, or someone hates that group, or we don’t like them because they’re different. We don’t like them because they’re purple, their hair is too curly, they dress funny, they eat weird food, they listen to strange music, they have a funny accent. I don’t care. The military shouldn’t care. No one should care. America was built as the land of the free. We grew on diversity. We prospered because all the different people from everywhere came here to be free. We are different from anywhere else in the world because we are built on differences.

What annoys me to no end is the people in power who do not understand that. Especially our military commanders. Their job is to protect our diversity and freedom. Are they only going to shoot every-other invader because only every-other person in America is a white-anglo-saxon-protestant? Will they only protect those of us who have a white picket fence in the front yard? Should we split the military into different units? One to protect Catholics? One for Jews? One for Hindus? One each for anyone that is different? No, damn it. We are diverse. We protect each other. Diversity is why we exist.

This is America.

This is the land of the free.

Don’t you ever forget that.

I fully understand the technologies. Upside down, and inside out. I understand what they do, how they do it, the problems, the difficulties, and the solutions. All of it. Who better to help monitor our efforts to stay technologically advanced and direct the military budget than someone who actually understands it all?

CHINA has a 1.2 Trillion dollar surplus. We’re already in debt up to our eyeballs. But it’s even worse than that... Multiply that $1.2T by the relative cost of Chinese labor, and they’re sitting on a whopping TWELVE Trillion dollar military piggy-bank. We are, truly, second-rate has-beens.

What’s even more interesting, however, is that China will defeat us without ever firing a shot. Not one. Not a single shot. It’s called an economic war. They are winning, and eventually will own us lock, stock, and barrel. Why? Because theirs is a culture of honor. Corruption is not tolerated. Patriotism is demanded. Our culture is follow-the-money. Our politicians can be bought. The Chinese know this, and have been taking advantage of it under the Bush administration. They are buying politicians. They are encouraging the police state. They are encouraging fascism. They press for continued Free Trade. They help the administration spread fear. They lend us all the money we want, to put us ever deeper into debt, to them. In a few short years, they will own us. My advice: learn to speak Chinese.
